Shuttered Venue Operators Grant

The Small Business Administration is launching a new round of the Paycheck Protection Program. This program provides forgivable loans to businesses that experienced a loss of revenue of at least 25%. Small businesses with 300 or fewer employees are eligible to apply. The PPP loans can be used to cover payroll and other eligible expenses.

Details of the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Announced

The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced details about the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant. The grant is intended to provide financial assistance to support eligible live venues and performing arts organizations . Eligible applicants can receive a grant for up to 45% of their 2019 gross earned revenue, up to $10M. 

According to the SBA website, eligible entities include:

  • Live venue operators or promoters
  • Theatrical producers
  • Live performing arts organization operators
  • Relevant museum operators, zoos and aquariums who meet specific criteria
  • Motion picture theater operators
  • Talent representatives, and
  • Each business entity owned by an eligible entity that also meets the eligibility requirements
